We're going to jump right into this guide by first talking about a few pointers in your videos, after that I have a few selected videos which will definitely boost your videos to high limits.

::Time For The Pointers:: |
|
1- The first 5-30 seconds is when your viewer is wondering "Should I watch a different video?"
Oh yes! Even after they've clicked your video they still aren't sure to watch it. So the first few scenes of your video must be the best part. No, this doesn't mean you can then have a 2 minute scene after this of you just walking around. Try your best throughout the video but the first few seconds must attract the viewers to keep them watching. |
2- Now having your video quality to the same graphics as RuneScape really does would be awesome but sadly free recording software aren’t always the best.
::I do have a few ideas of screen recording software just to give you the little edge forward::
Click a name to download it.
CamStudio
Hypercam
Screen Recorder Gold
Please note that recording in full screen make cause graphic problems when you record, some things may go all blocky when you move or stand depending on the computer. |
3- So your ready, you have a screen recorder and you know what your going to record. Do you?
Before setting out to making your video, make sure you have everything planned. You don't want to waste time by taking a scene, doing another scene and then go back stages to do another scene. Plan your video ahead. |
4- How and where are you going to record? To get some nice shots you want to be in worlds or places that not many people go to, this way you shouldn't have a newb come between your shot asking for a banana.
Time to get your scene shooting! A good way to get some nice shots is with the angle of how you’re positioned. Yes, yes, RuneScape is game not real life but having good angles make it so much better. Recently, a lot of people have been using a smart trick of hiding as a rock (Item: Ring of Stone - When worn you turn into a rock). Video makers would wear this and hide behind someone else, or behind objects and record their friend(s) doing the scene. If you don't wish to waste your money of this item you can use your Easter ring from the even awhile ago but ring of stone would act best as it covers into the scenery more then a bright colourful Easter ring.
To grab a good angle you can use your low shots which do work best. You can catch your friend running past you for a scene while you hide behind a box and he runs towards/past the camera. Try to get good background scenery, so castles, buildings, rocks, pretty much everything but do you best not to have random newbs in the background. |
5- Time to editing this video and we can do this by using (click to download):
Vegas 8.0
Camtasia
Window Movie Maker - This should already be on your computer found in your start >all programmes menu. |
6- We have the scenes and something to edit your video let's get to work! So, make sure you add all scenes in order, reordering them once in the timeline can get annoying after a few times. Editing your video you should learn by yourself so I will leave you here with one last tip. If you ever add text in your video change the style, don't use the default as it's dull. |

Time for me to stop going on about how to make these videos, as reading is boring! Why read when you can watch how it's done!
So here are some links to a few videos which have great tutorials on how to make a good video, enjoy! |
